Suns recruit Matthew Warnock says he has nothing against his old club, Melbourne and looks forward to facing them for the first time in the NAB Cup.

"I left on pretty good terms, no ill feelings or anything like that," Warnock said.

"I still keep in contact with quite a few of the boys. They've had big changes at the club as well. It'll be great to play against them but at the end of the day it's just another game of footy.

"Gold Coast has been great. The lifestyle is obviously a bit different to Melbourne - great weather, beaches and all that sort of thing, so [I am] really enjoying it so far."

Former Melbourne defender Matthew Warnock says believes he still has plenty to offer at AFL level after being traded to Gold Coast.

"It's been a tough 12 months, really frustrating, but I think I've learned a bit and if anything I think I'm even more confident now than what I was previously in what I can do," Warnock said on SEN radio.

"I suppose you've got to look on the bright side and I suppose that's one positive you can get out of it is that I've learned a lot and I'm feeling good about how I'm playing my footy at the moment."
