Dylan Addison Biography

Thursday, 7 November 2013

Former Bulldog Dylan Addison extends his career to a ninth season after signing a one-year deal with GWS as a delisted free agent.

"It's really exciting," Addison said.

"Being a Sydney boy, it's good to move back home and be close to the family and more importantly get another opportunity to prolong my AFL career.

"My brothers, mum and dad, aunties and uncles, all my family's based in Sydney."

Dylan Addison is delisted by the Bulldogs after eight seasons at the club.

"Dylan is a popular teammate and a high quality person, who gave his all for the team during his time here," list manager Jason McCartney said.

"We thank all players who have departed the club for their dedication and input that they've unreservedly given to our club, and sincerely wish them the best for the future."

After being delisted by the Bulldogs, Dylan Addison says he is willing to head interstate to continue his AFL career.

"They just said that I was no longer required at the Bulldogs and won't be renewing my contract," Addison said.

"It was disappointing news. As much as you can half see it coming after not being re-signed and then nothing being offered over the trade period, it was still a bit of a shock to hear it out of the horse's mouth.

"My number one priority is to stay in the system. I'd be happy to move interstate. I've got family in Sydney and I would be happy to move interstate to go anywhere. That wouldn't be a problem."

Dylan Addison is expected to miss the next month of football after breaking his jaw during the Bulldogs' loss to Essendon.

Monday, 7 November 2011

Western Bulldogs youngsters Luke Dahlhaus, Matthew Panos, Liam Jones, Christian Howard, Dylan Addison and Lukas Markovic all sign contract extensions with the club.

"This is an extremely positive outcome for our club and completes the re-signings of our remaining players, including the upgrade of two emerging talents off the rookie list," Bulldogs general manager of football James Fantasia said.

At Whitten Oval, Dylan Addison is widely considered the Western Bulldogs' toughest player.

"Dyl's been awesome. He has a presence about him around the ball," teammate Dale Morris said of Addison.

"He goes in so hard for it that it's reckless at times. He just throws his body in."
