Saturday, 12 November 2016

Andrejs Everitt has closed the door on continuing his career as a delisted free agent at a fourth club, confirming his retirement after 131 games.

Saturday, 6 February 2016

Andrejs Everitt reveals that the Suns made a pitch for him during the 2015 trade period.

"I was there cooking lunch and next minute I got the call from my manager about the Suns," Everitt said.

"It was a little bit left field. There wasn't long to go (in the trade period) and I was sort of listening to the radio, trying to find out who we were going to pick up and who was leaving.

"And that was all there really was to it. I never looked into it – I never spoke to Gold Coast at all – and soon after I had 'Bolts' and 'Macca' call me and just say, 'They put something forward but we weren't interested.'

"Carlton weren't going to get rid of me and I wasn't keen to go, so that's how it ended fortunately."

Andrejs Everitt will be at Carlton next year after activating a contract trigger for a third season with the Blues.

Everitt, who heads the club's goalkicking this season with 29 majors, was due to fall out of contract at the end of 2015.

But after playing every game so far this year and being a positive in a dark year for the Blues, the athletic forward has won an automatic extra season at the club in 2016.

"Andrejs has earned his contract extension and has built on his good form from last year, which saw him come equal seventh in our best and fairest," Blues football manager Andrew McKay said.

"This year he's taken his game to another level and we've been really pleased with his output in what have been trying circumstances.

"Andrejs has also consistently provided an option for us up forward and his efforts have seen him emerge as our leading goalscorer this season."

Saturday, 19 July 2014

Andrejs Everitt has been ruled out for up to a month with a low-grade posterior cruciate ligament strain in his left knee.

Everitt injured his knee in the first term and was substituted out of the game in the second term during Carlton's 23-point win over North Melbourne.

Monday, 26 May 2014

Andrejs Everitt is enjoying his new role as the Blues' run-with player.

"I've never really tagged before this, so it's another thing to tick off as something else I can do,'" Everitt said after limiting Crow Rory Sloane's impact on the game against Carlton at the MCG.

"I'm really enjoying it because it gets me involved a bit more, but I'm happy to do whatever job they give me to help the team."

Tuesday, 29 October 2013

Andrejs Everitt says he will put himself through the same intensive kickboxing camp in Thailand as he did last year before joining the Blues for pre-season training.

"I'll do that again this year because I really enjoy my boxing and kickboxing. I'll do that for a week and then relax for a few days before I come back and start training," Everitt said.

After moving to Carlton from the Swans Everitt says his versatility will be an asset to the Blues.

"Initially I'd like to play that half-back/wing role, but I think I'm pretty versatile where I can go up forward if you need to. So that swing role, along with (Andrew) Walker as well, we can play that role together," he said.

Friday, 25 October 2013

Andrejs Everitt is traded to Carlton in the dying moments of the Gillette Trade period.

As part of the trade, Everitt and the Swans' third round selection go to Carlton in exchange for the Blues' second round pick in the 2013 NAB AFL draft.

"We're rapt actually to secure the services of Andrejs," Carlton's football operations manager Andrew McKay said.

"He was keen to come back down to Melbourne and we were very, very keen to get his services."

Sunday, 10 April 2011

Former Bulldog Andrejs Everitt's form turnaround within the Swans' win over West Coast has won praise from his new coach after he kicked two crucial goals in the final quarter.

"He has played the whole pre-season and first couple of rounds down back and we knew he could go forward, but to be honest we didn't expect him to kick those goals in the last quarter," Longmire said.

"We lost Sam Reid in that third quarter, so we needed a tall forward and he really filled that bill. When he went forward he was really important in that last quarter and gave us a real target."

Wednesday, 6 October 2010

Andrejs Everitt and Patrick Veszpremi will swap clubs in the 2010 AFL Exchange Period's first deal.

Saturday, 10 April 2010

Off-season speculation of Andrejs Everitt's move from Whitten Oval never dinted his desire to remain with the Western Bulldogs.

"There was no one really driving a trade. It was all a bit of talk," he said.

"There was nothing really to come out of it at all, no bad blood or anything. It was mainly the media pumping it up. I never wanted to leave; definitely not. It was all a bit bizarre and something different to read really."

Wednesday, 28 October 2009

Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade believes there is a regular spot available for Andrejs Everitt if he is willing to work for it.

"At times, he didn't do the work. No one gets a game on a plate, and if he's prepared to work, he'll get games. Liam Picken was a rookie and Andrejs was taken at No.11 in the draft. It doesn't matter how you got here; it's about the work rate and the work ethic you've got," Eade said.

"Andrejs works in fits and starts, and if he can work hard enough and long enough, he'll get games because he's got enough talent."

Tuesday, 6 January 2009

Western Bulldogs youngster Andrejs Everitt has had a setback in pre-season training after suffering a bout of glandular fever.

Wednesday, 5 March 2008

Andrejs Everitt strains a medial ligament during a handball drill at training after colliding with a teammate.

Everitt is expected to miss six weeks.

Thursday, 29 November 2007

Recently retired Chris Grant hands Andrejs Everitt his no. 3 jumper.

"He works hard and there's no fuss about him on and off the field," Grant Said. "We decided it was going to go to someone who would do the number justice."

Everitt was pleased with the progress he has made after just one year. "At the start I didn't think I was going to play," he said.

"But to see that I have played and they think of me that highly is really good. I'm looking forward to getting on with it next year."
