The Western Bulldogs delist Mark Austin and Alex Greenwood ahead of the list lodgement deadline.

"We thank both Mark and Alex for the commitment they've shown throughout their time at Whitten Oval," Bulldogs list manager Jason McCartney said.

"Both players have conducted themselves with a high level of professionalism, and we wish them the very best for the future."

Defender Mark Austin will miss the rest of the season after breaking his wrist against Carlton last weekend.

"Mark has impressed many around the club with his attitude towards his football," Bulldogs football manager James Fantasia said.

"He is a resilient character and will no doubt throw himself into his rehabilitation with professionalism and purpose ahead of the 2013 pre-season campaign."

Bulldog star Brian Lake says his younger defensive teammates have helped him rediscover his dominant form this year.

"The improvement in the side defensively has really helped myself," he said.

"We've had some injuries to some key players down back, and the enjoyment I'm getting out of teaching some of the young guys down there [with] 'Aussie' (Mark Austin) coming into the side and obviously Lukas Markovic earlier in the year, it's given me a new outlook on football and I'm really flourishing from that this year."
