Former Western Bulldogs and Sydney Swans forward Patrick Veszpremi dismisses complaints players aren't given enough help after football.

"I think sometimes players don't realise when they finish up they have to go out and get what you're worth," Veszpremi said.

"I just think with the psychologists they provide, the money for study, they can't just give players jobs it doesn't work like that, this is the real world, this is real life now.

"I think some players think they need more but actually there's already a lot of support compared to what the average person coming out of school gets."

After being delisted by the Western Bulldogs, the second time he has been deslited by an AFL club, Patrick Veszpremi says he's matured and can still be a damaging forward.

"This year I thought I improved in a lot of areas. My endurance I improved that massively, I improved my kicking efficiency around the ground, I improved my goalkicking and my tackling," Veszpremi said.

"I still believe I've got plenty to give. I didn't really get that much opportunity this year, which was really disappointing, but I've moved on.

"Playing as a forward I think I can really give something to another team, just those forward smarts. I still believe that I'm a damaging player, so hopefully another club can see something in me."

Daniel Cross, Nick Lower, Lukas Markovic and Patrick Veszpremi are delisted by the Western Bulldogs.

"These decisions are always difficult but are made with the club's future as the primary focus," Bulldogs list manager Jason McCartney said.

"We thank the players sincerely for the valuable contributions they've made to our football club and wish them the very best for the future."

Patrick Veszpremi is making the transition from flashy forward to miserly defender at the Bulldogs.

"It's not a bad thing to know two positions," he said.

"You become more versatile and it adds a different dimension to your game. It's a case of whatever gives me the best chance of playing AFL footy."

Bulldogs recruit Patrick Veszpremi says former Swans teammate Barry Hall convinced him he would fit into his new club.

"Just the way he explained and the way they seem to go about the club, he sold it for me ... that's what really got me across there and having a meeting with Rocket (Rodney Eade) and all the coaches, hearing what they had to say and where they think I'd fit with coming to the club," Veszpremi said.

"That was it really. I just said I wanted to go to the Bulldogs; lucky enough Sydney were interested in (Andrejs) Everitt and it worked out OK."

Andrejs Everitt and Patrick Veszpremi will swap clubs in the 2010 AFL Exchange Period's first deal.
