Brendan Murphy decides to quit the Swans to return to his native Ireland citing injury and a loss of passion as the reasons for his decision.

"It wasn't an easy decision to make but it has been a frustrating year with injuries and I feel as a consequence I've lost the drive and passion to play AFL," he said.

"I will miss the club and all the friends I have made."
