Matt Thomas has been delisted by Port Adelaide, along with key forwards Daniel Stewart and Nick Salter as well as defender Nathan Blee.

They are four of seven changes to the club's squad, with rookies Justin Hoskin, Darren Pfeiffer and Danny Butcher also delisted.

Daniel Stewart says the time has come for him to elevate his game to a consistently high level.

"I'll be looking to try and cement my spot in the team," he said.

"I had a full pre-season, didn't miss a training session. It's probably time for me to step it up and prove that I'm meant to be playing AFL."

Daniel Stewart makes his AFL debut for Port Adelaide at Kardinia Park with 6 disposals (2 kicks and 4 handballs), a mark, 2 tackles, 1 hitouts and a goal in a 95-point loss to Geelong.

Port Adelaide has delisted Nick Lower, Jonathan Giles, Matthew Martin and Jesse Laurie while Daniel Stewart has been upgraded from the rookie list.

"Both Jon and Nick have been quality people to have around the footy club, and we thank them for that and wish them all the best," football operations manager Peter Rohde said of Giles and Lower.
