Following the trade period, Adelaide delists another three players including defender Luke Thompson as well as rookies Alex Spina and James Battersby.

"They are all good young people who were popular around our club," Adelaide head of football David Noble said.

"Luke, in particular, had a terrific attitude and work ethic."

Adelaide has re-signed young defender Luke Thompson.

"His form in the last two finals was very good which was no surprise as we know Luke's capabilities," Crows football operations manager Phil Harper said about Thompson.

"He had a frustrating year trying to break into the senior side and we are really pleased that despite this he has decided to stay with the club, as he sees a bright future for this team."

Young Crow defender Daniel Talia says there is tough competition for spots in the Adelaide backline.

"There's blokes like Lewis Johnston, Luke Thompson, Andy Otten and myself all vying for those key defensive roles," Talia said.

"I'm out there to get one of those spots, but in saying that there's a lot of competition for that key back spot."
