Levi Casboult announces his retirement, ending an AFL career that spanned 198 games across 15 seasons with two clubs. “It’s been a long time coming, I can look back and say I got the most out of myself and I left no stone unturned over 15 years,” Casboult said. “I have met so many incredible people and I will always be grateful for everything my career has given me."

Friday, 3 April 2020
Levi Casboult says he will continue to work diligently on his goalkicking during the suspension of the 2020 AFL Season (due to COVID-19 concerns). "That part of my game is always going to be a work in progress. For me it's always a numbers game, getting out there with a bag of footies that I've got in the garage and having a few shots," Casboult said. "I actually find in the off-season when you kick less sometimes you go back to pre-season and you kick better so sometimes less is more. (I'm) definitely still trying to kick the footies a fair bit because I'm trying to keep that muscle memory going."

Levi Casboult says he relished being moved to the Blues' backline. "I loved the change-up and the challenge of something different. Maybe it suited my attributes better. I feel like I read the flight of the ball pretty well, but then as a forward you've got a defender trying to put you off," Casboult said. "As a defender, you see everything in front of you and everything is a lot freer." As for 2020, Casboult expects to play a variety of three unique roles in every area of the field. "I've had a good chat to 'Teaguey' around what it all looks like and I think it'll be much the same," Casboult said. "I'll train as a forward-ruck, but there will still be that chance of playing down back and having an impact down there."

Levi Casboult is likely to stay at the Blues after attracting limited interest during the NAB AFL Trade Period. The 28-year-old – who is contracted until the end of 2019 – was put on the trade table after playing just 10 games this season.

Levi Casboult will remain in Adelaide for several days after suffering a fractured rib in the match against the Crows at Adelaide Oval. The 28-year-old was kneed in the ribs by Tom Doedee as the Crows defender went for a mark with six minutes left in the final quarter. "Scans have also confirmed as a result of the fracture, Levi has sustained an injury to the lining of his lung," Carlton football manager Andrew McKay said.

Levi Casboult turns his back on free agency, signing a two-year deal that will tie him to Carlton until the end of 2019. "Levi has made pleasing improvements across his game this season, and has committed himself to continually developing as a key forward," Carlton football boss Andrew McKay said. "He has been leading a very young forward line this year, and provides a strong target for us."

Levi Casboult is will wait until the end of this season before deciding on his future, according to his manager Anthony McConville. "At the end of the day it's going to be Levi’s decision as to whether he remains at Carlton," McConville told News Corp. "My job is to facilitate what is available for him. I can assure you at this point in time there is no deal from any club that has been brokered or agreed to. "It will remain that way until the last game and then we will see at year's end what is available at Carlton. We will keep all our options open until the end of the year."

A scary collision with Carlton forward Levi Casboult in last Saturday night's clash at Etihad Stadium got Geelong defender Tom Lonergan thinking about retirement and life after football. Lonergan, who lost his right kidney in 2006 after a collision on the football field, courageously sat under an incoming kick and was crunched by Casboult, whose knee was planted into the "good side" of his back. "Nothing like that has happened to me since, so I've never really thought about life after footy until you do get a hit like that close to the kidney," Lonergan said. "You start to think, 'Well how many of these can you take? It was just one of those initial thoughts. "It was a decent hit and I knew straight away it was on my left side, which is my good side. "So that was the only worry, hoping it hadn't got near the kidney, and the doctors were really confident it wasn't anywhere near that."

Levi Casboult has delayed signing a new contract until the end of the season. "He's clearly having the best year of his career and enjoying playing an important role in a young playing group,” Casboult's manager Anthony McConville said. "He's really not concerned about his future at this point, because he wants his footy to speak for itself. "Like every other year Levi has been out of contract, we will look to sort all of that out upon the completion of the season."

Sav Rocca returns to Carlton as a specialist kicking coach after a year's absence. Rocca had worked at Ikon Park in 2015, when he had considerable success mentoring Blues forward Levi Casboult, who kicked 24.12 for the season. Rocca and the Blues were unable to agree to terms for him to continue in 2016 and Casboult's goalkicking noticeably suffered (18.18 for the season). However, Carlton announced on Monday Rocca, 43, had rejoined the Blues' coaching group. "He not only has a wealth of knowledge in kicking techniques, but he is also able to pass that knowledge on to our players in a really effective way. I have no doubt our players will benefit from his guidance and support," Carlton football manager Andrew McKay said.

Levi Casboult will play on with Carlton in 2017 after signing off on a new one-year deal with Carlton. "As a team, we know we need to continue to evolve as a developing side, but collectively, I think we showed some exciting signs this year," Casboult said. "I've enjoyed working closely with Brendon Bolton and particularly forwards coach Shane Watson on the areas of my game that need improving and will continue to work really hard this upcoming pre-season."

Levi Casboult is suspended for a 'tummy tap' after the Match Review Panel handed him a one-match ban for striking Adelaide's Kyle Hartigan. In a verdict that will put all players on notice, Casboult's punch to the stomach of his opponent was graded as intentional conduct with medium impact to the body. It underlines a willingness from the MRP to come down harder on players for such strikes after the issuing of $1000 fines failed to deter them from blatantly punching opponents.

Levi Casboult says a device known as a body flow machine has assisted in speeding up his recovery from a depressed tibia in his left leg. The machine sends gentle electrodes through the body's tissue and is used by AFL clubs as a treatment method to allow players to recover from injuries faster. "I spent a lot of time in the ice baths, (using the) body flow machine, with electrodes going through your body and a lot of activation stuff," Casboult said after being part of the Blues' 19-point win over the Cats. "It's been a bit mind numbing but we got there in the end."

Levi Casboult will miss six to eight weeks after suffering a hairline fracture in his left leg in the opening minutes of the Blues' two-point win against Port Adelaide. The injury, which happened at the top of his tibia bone, does not require surgery. While disappointing, the result was better than initially feared, when it seemed Casboult may have severely injured his knee. Casboult hyperextended his knee after talking a contested mark over Tom Jonas, and was helped from the field by trainers.

Carlton coach Brendon Bolton has defended out-of-sorts spearhead Levi Casboult. Casboult has assumed the mantle of Carlton's No.1 key forward this season following the departure of the club's key forwards in the past two years. The 26-year-old has struggled with the burden to date, kicking just three goals from the opening four rounds. "Levi is an exceptional contested mark and he's giving us a great target up the ground and in deep," Bolton said. "In fact, he's as good as anyone in the competition in that area. He's working really hard on his goalkicking."

Levi Casboult says despite interest from other clubs, he did not consider leaving Carlton at the end of 2015. With the departures of Jarrad Waite and Lachie Henderson, Casboult is likely to shoulder greater responsibilities in the Blues' forward line under new coach Brendon Bolton. "I was a Carlton supporter growing up so I was excited by the opportunity to get us back up to the top of the ladder, but also with the opportunities for myself down forward," Casboult said. "There is a big opportunity for me to be that big key forward, so I was never going to leave."

Levi Casboult says he is growing in confidence as his set shot kicking improves thanks to specialist coach Saverio Rocca. "My goalkicking has been very inconsistent and a talking point for a lot of people," Casboult said. "(But) Sav's come in and simplified things. "I'm kicking straighter so that helps with confidence. I think most people play on confidence. "A lot of it's my technique not being 100 per cent, so I'm trying to fix that at training and it's just about repetition so in a game I don't go back to my bad technique."

Liam Jones says Levi Casboult can become a solid shot for goal despite his Carlton teammate having been plagued by erratic kicking throughout his career and booting 31.33 in his 37 senior games. "In a game, you have one or two shots and if you miss them you feel like they're the only two shots you've had, whereas at training you can have 10 shots and you miss the first two and you kick the next eight," Jones said. "So he's worked on it a lot and I think he's become a lot more comfortable with it now and I think in the future the hard work he's put in will show. "He knows how to kick a football. In the coming weeks he'll do what's needed of him as a forward and kick those goals."
Thursday, 4 September 2014
Levi Casboult's good form has been rewarded with a two-year contract extension with Carlton. "For me it was always just a matter of when the deal got done, not who it was going to be with. It's nice to get that behind me and look forward to pre-season now," Casboult said. "Carlton is a great environment to learn in, there a lot of senior players around who are good old heads to learn from. "I'm really happy to be able to stay on for another couple of years."

With Jarrad Waite, Matthew Kreuzer, Levi Casboult, Luke Mitchell, Shaun Hampson and Sam Rowe all expected to be ready for the start of the season, Carlton is expected to be spoilt for choice when it comes to big men, something it rarely had the luxury of in 2012. "We could not get consistently healthy talls last year, so having these guys fit and available is going to be critical for us," forwards coach John Barker said. "The good thing is all of them who had some small and big issues last year, they are all ready to go."
Wednesday, 3 October 2012
Carlton ruckman Levi Casboult has inked a new two-year deal with the Blues. "The contract offers security, but it doesn't really change anything," Casboult said. "I've still got to work hard to keep my spot in the 22 and I know there's a lot of hard work ahead."
Saturday, 21 July 2012
Levi Casboult makes his AFL debut for Carlton at Docklands Stadium with 7 disposals (5 kicks and 2 handballs), 5 marks, 3 tackles and 9 hitouts in a 18-point win over the Western Bulldogs.
Friday, 20 July 2012
With Matthew Kreuzer injured, Carlton turns to Levi Casboult to make his debut in the ruck against the Bulldogs. "He's an exciting young player and I think there's going to be great energy come out of the guy," Carlton assistant coach John Barker said. "We don't want to give him too many instructions, especially given it's his first game. We want him to go out there and enjoy it and play on a bit more instinct rather than cripple him with too much instruction."
Saturday, 26 December 2009
Carlton rookie Levi Casboult says he is lucky to have survived a car accident that occurred during Christmas when an airborne car crashed into his vehicle. "I was lucky to spend Christmas with my family. I've been really fortunate. I've walked away without even a scratch. No whiplash, no nothing," Casboult said. Casboult also made the news after being made to consume large amounts of alcohol by his Carlton teammates aboard a cruise ship. "They do it at every other club, whether it's AFL, VFL or whatever. It's part of being in a football club," Casboult said. "I'm probably not even going to drink on New Year's now. I'm not going to be touching it for a long time."
