Fraser McInnes Biography

Monday, 16 October 2017

Fraser McInnes signs a new deal with West Coast to remain on the club's rookie list for 2018.

"With Fraser McInnes, it's a great story in a number of ways for our club. Success isn't always measured by the amount of games you win, or where you finished in the club champion award," Eagles football manager Craig Vozzo said.

"In terms of the great fellas at our football club, and great teammates, Fraser McInnes is right in the top half-dozen."

Fraser McInnes is ruled out for the remainder of the year following another serious hamstring injury.

McInnes, 23, suffered the injury to his right hamstring during Sunday's WAFL elimination final while playing for East Perth.

West Coast trio Sharrod Wellingham, Josh Hill and Fraser McInnes have all re-signed as the Eagles look to sustain the success they have had in 2015.

Eagles football manager Craig Vozzo told the club's website that the trio were important part of the club's plans over the coming seasons.

"We believe we have the nucleus of an exciting list and Sharrod, Josh and Fraser are all important players on that list," Vozzo said.

"They have each played an important role in what we have so far achieved this year and they will be integral to the long-term plan of sustained success, so it's exciting to have them extend their commitment to the club."

Fraser McInnes appears set to miss the rest of the season after badly damaging his hamstring in the WAFL on the weekend.

"We're getting it assessed at the moment with the surgeon, with possible surgery to follow," Eagles football operations manager Craig Vozzo said.

"So we'll know more about that in the next few days, but it's looking like a longish-term injury at this stage."

Monday, 27 April 2015

After waiting four years to make his senior debut, West Coast big man Fraser McInnes says he wouldn't have had it any other way.

McInnes was drafted with pick No.28 in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft, but racked up 62 WAFL games with Perth and East Perth, and seven pre-season matches with West Coast, before finally cracking the big time.

He gathered 15 touches, pulled down eight marks and kicked a goal on debut in the Eagles' 53-point win against Brisbane.

"It was definitely worth the wait," he said.

"It was a journey for me getting there. I took my time to play my first game but I've loved my time at the club so I wouldn't have had it any other way.

"It was a great experience, great to have a win. It was a really proud moment."
