Richmond delist Matt McDonough and Matt Arnot in the aftermath of its finals exit.

Wednesday, 3 December 2014

Richmond selects Matt Arnot with pick No.61 in the 2014 NAB AFL Rookie Draft.

"Matty's an ultimate competitor but last year he had a few hiccups, particularly in the pre-season, and he perhaps didn't progress as we might have hoped," Tigers recruiting manager Francis Jackson said.

"He'll leave no stone unturned to be the best he can. He's come back in good condition and he'll be pushing for a senior game."

Richmond delists Matt Arnot but says it will re-draft him as a rookie.

"The decision to delist Matt was a tough one to make, however it was a necessary list management decision to enable us to go into the upcoming draft period with the number of selections we want," football manager Dan Richardson said.

"We have committed to re-drafting Matt, as we believe he still has a contribution to make to the Richmond Football Club.

Scans clear Rory Thompson of internal injuries following his heavy collision with Richmond midfielder Matthew Arnot.

"Fortunately the scans revealed that Rory had suffered no internal damage," Gold Coast football operations manager Marcus Ashcroft said.

"However he does have some bruising of the chest which our medical team will monitor throughout the week, but we remain optimistic that Rory will be available for selection this week."

Rory Thompson is carried from Cazalys Stadium on a stretcher after a heavy collision with Richmond midfielder Matthew Arnot and taken to hospital for scans.

"I think it's his shoulder or his chest, so we'll just wait on the scans," Gold Coast coach Guy McKenna said.

"He's gone to hospital and he walked to the car. I think that's a good thing.

"He's had a super season. At his age and with his experience as a backman, he's stood up under some fierce weight of numbers."

Sunday, 30 June 2013

Matthew Arnot makes his AFL debut for Richmond at the MCG with 11 disposals (5 kicks and 6 handballs), a mark and 7 tackles in a 64-point win over St Kilda.
