Amos Frank is delisted by Hawthorn after two years in the AFL system, capping off an incredible journey which started from the remote Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands of far north-west South Australia and culminating with a spot on the Hawks' rookie list.
Frank has secured a job in Adelaide working for the SANFL as an Indigenous development officer, and is expected to return to Woodville West Torrens in the SANFL to play football.
"He grew as a person, and he brought a lot to the club – I reckon it was great for our players to have him around," Hawks football manager Chris Fagan said.
"It amazed them how well he adapted – it is a big ask to move from where he was to Melbourne. Overall, it was a really good thing to do, but we just couldn't quite see him getting there to play AFL footy."
