Marc Pittonet signs a new deal at Carlton, tying him to the Blues until the end of 2027.

Hawthorn trade Marc Pittonet to Carlton with the Blues sending picks No.54 and No.63 to the Hawks in exchange for the 23-year-old and pick No.61.

"Marc has a big physical presence and plays with real physicality and aggression, he is a great fit for us," Carlton list manager Stephen Silvagni said.

"He is 23, has already been on an AFL list for five years and as a ruckman he is coming into his own. We look forward to Marc working with our ruck coach Hamish McIntosh as he adds some real strength to our ruck division."

Marc Pittonet has signed a new two-year contract that will see him stick with the Hawks until the end of 2018 at least.

After being picked up in the 2014 draft, Pittonet made his club debut in Round 1 this year in Hawthorn’s five-goal loss to Geelong.

“He had a really strong pre-season and has already got results from that this year, making his AFL debut and producing some strong performances for Box Hill,” Hawthorn recruiting and list manager Graham Wright said.

“He’s still only 19 years old, and we think’s he’s got a bright future at Hawthorn.”

Marc Pittonet makes his AFL debut for Hawthorn at the MCG with 6 disposals (a kick and 5 handballs), a tackle and 7 hitouts in a 30-point loss to Geelong.

Hawthorn select Teia Miles with pick No.49 in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft.

"A young ruckman. He has a basketball background but he is 106 kilograms and 202 centimetres so at a pinch if we had injuries he might play senior football," Hawthorn recruiting manager Graham Wright said.

"He has a bit of work to do but he is a good tap ruckman."
