Clem Smith Biography

Thursday, 10 December 2015

Clem Smith has been punished with extra training sessions this week after being forced to apologise to his teammates for being involved in a drunken altercation last Saturday night.

The Blues have confirmed Smith, 19, was involved in a physical incident that attracted police involvement last weekend after a night of drinking in South Yarra.

While no charges have been laid - and the Blues don't believe there will be - the seven-game player is believed to have come off second best in the scuffle in Chapel Street.

Thursday, 2 April 2015

Clem Smith makes his AFL debut for Carlton at the MCG with 11 disposals (7 kicks and 4 handballs) and 4 marks in a 27-point loss to Richmond.

Wednesday, 11 February 2015

Blues football manager Andrew McKay says draftee Clem Smith is primed to play in the NAB Challenge after an impressive pre-season.

"Clem's had the most to improve I suppose. He was the least fit (of the draftees) when he came, but he's improved out of sight, which is great," McKay said.

Thursday, 22 January 2015

Blues recruit Clem Smith inherits the No. 25 made famous by club legend Alex Jesaulenko and two-time Coleman medallist Brendan Fevola.

Saturday, 6 December 2014

Carlton believes it has picked up a steal after snapping up highly-rated Clem Smith with pick No.60 in the NAB AFL draft.

Smith had been awarded WA's MVP award in the 2013 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, while in the same year he was named an All Australian as a bottom-age player.

"My first impression of Clem was that he was a very talented young man," Blues director of development and coaching Rob Wiley said.

"Out of all the young kids I've seen and worked with, he's right up at the top shelf in the way he attacks the ball hard."
