The Brisbane Lions delist five players, headlined by former Collingwood key position player Jackson Paine.

Untried pair Josh Watts and Josh McGuinness, along with rookies Hugh Beasley and Billy Evans have also been delisted.

"Of course it is disappointing when any player departs, and each of the guys have given great service to our club," Brisbane football manager Matt Francis said.

Hugh Beasley makes his AFL debut for Brisbane with 9 disposals (2 kicks and 7 handballs), 2 marks and a tackle in a 30-point loss to GWS.

Brisbane select Hugh Beasley with pick No.22 in the NAB AFL Rookie Draft.

"Hugh's a boy that we've watched throughout the past three seasons, although this is the first year he's had a full uninterrupted season with injury," Brisbane recruiting manager Stephen Conole said.

"We've been really impressed with his ability to play on talls and smalls.

"We feel his pace and agility is in the highest echelon, and we're hopeful he can play a role down back on different types and sizes."
