Former Fremantle defender Sam Collins, axed West Coast forward Tom Lamb and ex-North Melbourne midfielder Will Fordham will train with St Kilda over the next fortnight as they bid to revive their careers.

None have been given any promises about being picked up.

North Melbourne delists rookies Will Fordham and Matthew Taylor.

"Will and Matt have taken good strides and shown great development in their time with us and I sincerely hope their football journeys continue for many years to come," North Melbourne football manager Cameron Joyce said.

"We wish them some individual and team success in the not-too-distant future, regardless of where they end up playing next."

Will Fordham would return for a third year on North Melbourne's rookie list in 2017 after signing a new deal with the club.

Fordham says he models his game on Sam Gibson's and is aiming to dethrone the Roos' running man now that he has re-signed for 2016.

"I base my game really highly around 'Gibbo'. We've got the same sort of body type and the same sort of attributes – he's a very fit bloke and he plays on a wing as well," Fordham said.

"He's been really good at looking over my shoulder and telling me what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong.

"I had a knee arthroscope before the draft so I missed out on the pre-season time trials, but I can't wait to take Gibbo on next pre-season."

North Melbourne selects Will Fordham with pick No.33 in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft.

"Will's a 189cm running midfielder who played every game for Sandy in the TAC Cup this year," Kangaroos recruiting manager Bryce Lewis said.

"Given that we brought in some taller types in the national draft we feel he offers something a bit different with his run and carry.

"He's a late developer who improved as the year went on."
