Aidyn Johnson Biography

Monday, 23 October 2017

Aidyn Johnson signs a two-year contract extension with Port Adelaide to remain at the club until the end of 2019.

Johnson made his AFL debut and played five games in 2017.

"Physically, I’m feeling really good now after having trouble with injuries during my first season," Johnson said.

"Having had a taste of AFL footy this year I’m determined to earn a regular spot in the side."

Friday, 21 April 2017

Aidyn Johnson makes his AFL debut for Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval with 14 disposals (8 kicks and 6 handballs), 5 marks, a tackle and 2 goals in a 90-point win over Carlton.

Port Adelaide's leadership group defends its handling of Jarman Impey's crash-and-run case, saying the defender's wellbeing is their primary concern.

Impey and teammate Aidyn Johnson have both been fined $5000 by the club and banned from selection for the opening round of next year's premiership season after being involved in the incident on December 3.

"The club has obviously handed down some sanctions, but at the same time 'Jars' is a kid who has been through some tough stuff and the club has really wrapped their arms around him," Tom Jonas, a member of Port's leadership group, told reporters.

"He's (Impey) in a good spot as a human and he's also able to come out and train and (hopefully) he can provide for us on game day as well."

Tuesday, 6 December 2016

Port Adelaide suspends Jarman Impey for the club's round one clash against the Sydney Swans after his crash-and-run incident at the weekend.

The club has also suspended young forward Aidyn Johnson for the season opener after South Australian police advised the 19-year-old was a passenger in the car.

Both players have been fined $5000 by the Power's leadership group, which sanctioned the two forwards after consulting with the AFL and AFL Players Association.

Impey crashed into four cars, one belonging to teammate Angus Monfries, following a pool party and drinking session at Monfries' house.

Impey and Johnson will direct their $5,000 sanctions to the Brain Injury Network of South Australia in support of road safety programs helping people who have suffered brain injuries.

They will also be required to participate in the network's youth reconnect programs.

Wednesday, 25 November 2015

Port Adelaide select Aidyn Johnson with pick No.45 in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft.

"He's lightly built but he can really run, he's lightening quick, got good agility, plays with a little bit of aggression. We think he can do a few little tricks," Power recruiting boss Geoff Parker said.
