Kayle Kirby Biography

Wednesday, 24 October 2018

Kayle Kirby is likely to be forced into retirement due to his heart condition, according to the Pie's manager Scott Lucas.

"Football may be a challenge, but quality of life, so forth, he has full clearance there," Lucas said.

"I wouldn't say he'll be delisted, I would think the advice would be he's no longer able to play at the highest level because of his condition."

Friday, 4 May 2018

Kayle Kirby is unlikely to play football again this season as he deals with a heart condition.

He will complete light exercise over that period and will be monitored by the Magpies' medical staff and his cardiologist.

Tuesday, 17 April 2018

Kayle Kirby won't play in the VFL this weekend as tests are yet to reveal exactly what caused his collapse from an irregular heartbeat last month.

Saturday, 31 March 2018

Kayle Kirby is in a stable condition in hospital after collapsing behind play during a VFL practice match at the Holden Centre.

Kirby rolled onto his back after he fell, and momentarily stood before lying back down.

The game was stopped for 40 minutes while he was treated on the field before he was taken to Epworth Hospital where he spent the night.

"He collapsed, it wasn't a contact injury, but it was some form of irregularity in his heartbeat," Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley said.

Saturday, 26 August 2017

Kayle Kirby makes his AFL debut for Collingwood at the MCG with 4 disposals (3 kicks and a handball), 2 marks and 5 tackles in a 16-point win over Melbourne.

Friday, 25 August 2017

Kayle Kirby will make his debut for Collingwood this week at the MCG against Melbourne.

"Kayle arrived at Collingwood as a player with a lot of pure talent," Collingwood football boss Geoff Walsh said.

"He has since worked tremendously hard to embrace the demands of the professional game and his form in the VFL ... has been strong, consistent and often exciting.

"Tomorrow will be reward for a lot of hard work from Kayle."

Friday, 25 November 2016

Collingwood select Kayle Kirby with pick No.50 in the 2016 National Draft.

"Kayle is coming from a little bit behind but he brings that high-end speed and physicality to our front half. It will be interesting to see how he goes," Collingwood list manager Derek Hine said.

"We're in the futures market so he'll be OK I'm sure."
