Peter Ladhams Biography

Wednesday, 31 August 2022

Sydney coach John Longmire has expressed his dissatisfaction with Peter Ladhams after the ruckman's crude hit in the VFL cost him a three-match suspension and a potential finals berth.

Ladhams was banned after a late, high shot on Casey's Taj Woewoedin in the VFL, and will now only be available if the Swans lose to the Demons before reaching the Grand Final.

Peter Ladhams is traded to Sydney with the Swans giving up pick No.12 and a future third-round selection in exchange for pick 16 and the 202cm ruckman.

"Peter is a player who has shown great versatility to play ruck and up forward. He is 202cm but very mobile and I know Dean Cox is really forward to working with him," Sydney executive general manager Charlie Gardiner said.

Monday, 11 October 2021

Peter Ladhams officially informs Port Adelaide of his desire to move, nominating Sydney as his club of choice.

Wednesday, 6 October 2021

Hawthorn and Sydney reportedly show interest in Peter Ladhams, who has been informed by the Power to explore other opportunities.

However, Port Adelaide's premium asking price for Ladhams could be a stumbling block in negotiations, as both are hesitant to give up a top-end draft pick for the 202cm ruckman.

Contracted tall Peter Ladhams looks destined to remain at Port Adelaide in 2022, despite his desire to look for further opportunities elsewhere. Ladhams is second in the ruck pecking order at the Power behind Scott Lycett, but is eager to get more time on the ball rather than up forward.

"Unless there's a proper outcome for both parties, then I would suggest right now, Pete's going to be at Port Adelaide next year," Port's general manager of football Chris Davies told AFL Trade Radio.

Thursday, 20 August 2020

Dan Houston and Peter Ladhams are suspended for two and three matches respectively after they were deemed to have broken the AFL's COVID-19 protocols by entertaining visitors at Ladhams' home.

Port Adelaide also received a $50,000 sanction ($25,000 suspended) with the $25,000 to come out of the club's football department soft cap for next year.

"I'm very embarrassed to put the club and my teammates in this position. There was no excuse for my complacency and I fully accept the sanction handed down by the AFL," Ladhams said.

"Our entire club has worked so hard this season with all the challenges that have come our way and I feel like I have let the boys down with this breach," Houston said.

Wednesday, 7 August 2019

Peter Ladhams signs a new contract extension with Port Adelaide to remain at the club until the end of 2022.

Ladhams, 21, has spent the past three seasons on the Power's rookie list and the club's patience has paid off with the 203cm big man showing promise in his three games this season.

"I didn't play well in the SANFL last year and (Port) could've parted ways, but they showed faith," Ladhams said.

"I always knew I had it in me, just had to fix a few things up. My professionalism has let me down in the past, so I've got that under control this year."

Thursday, 11 July 2019

North Melbourne is eyeing a move for Port Adelaide youngster Peter Ladhams, with the Kangaroos keeping tabs on ruck options ahead of this year's NAB AFL Trade Period.

Ladhams is uncontracted beyond this season at the Power, with a number of clubs understood to be monitoring whether he extends his current deal at Alberton Oval.

Saturday, 25 May 2019

Peter Ladhams makes his AFL debut for Port Adelaide with 13 disposals (6 kicks and 7 handballs), a mark, 9 hitouts and a goal in a 31-point loss to Hawthorn.

Monday, 28 November 2016

Port Adelaide select Peter Ladhams with pick No.9 in the 2016 Rookie Draft.
