Oliver Hanrahan Biography

Oliver Hanrahan is delisted by the Hawks after five seasons.

Debuting in 2019, Hanrahan won the Hawks' Best First Year Player award that season but failed to solidify his spot in Hawthorn's best 22.

"We informed Ollie that we would have to wait until the end of Trade Period before having a decision on his future and sadly it has panned out that we won't be offering him a contract going forward," Hawks club's football boss Rob McCartney said.

Oliver Hanrahan makes his AFL debut for Hawthorn at the MCG with 10 disposals (4 kicks and 6 handballs), 3 marks and a goal in a 6-point loss to West Coast.

Hawthorn select Oliver Hanrahan with pick No.14 in the 2016 Rookie Draft.

“Oliver is an athletic half forward/midfielder who played with St. Kevin's College all season," Hawks recruiting manager Graham Wright said.

"He also played in the APS v AGSV game and AFL Victoria Young Guns game earlier this year.

"We were impressed with his speed, kicking and decision making.

"He is only lightly framed and will take some time to develop."
