Monday, 31 October 2022

Sydney delists Sam Naismith, Ben Ronke and James Bell.

"We thank Ben, James and Sam for their very valuable contributions to our club. They have been popular members of the squad and will always be a part of the Swans family. On behalf of everyone at the Swans, I wish them all the very best for the future," Swans footy boss Charlie Gardiner said.

Wednesday, 6 June 2018

Ben Ronke recommits to Sydney, signing a two-year contract extension to stay with the Swans until at least the end of 2020.

"Ever since I've been at this club I’ve just wanted to stay. I’ve felt at home since I got here. The playing group make you feel like it’s where you want to be and I’m absolutely thrilled," Ronke said.

"I’ve loved trying to win as much respect as I can and trying to work hard and it’s great to get recognised with a contract extension."

Ben Ronke earns the round 8 AFL Rising Star nomination after his stunning seven-goal effort against Hawthorn.

Ronke's father Jamie watched his son's from a Bali bar with intermittent TV reception.

"I seriously felt numb, like I was in a dream – I don't know how to describe it," a proud Jamie said.

"I wasted time bringing a book over here. I've spent my time flicking through social media instead and there are so many positive comments.

"It's a great feeling after all the trials and tribulations he faced as a young kid."

Saturday, 12 May 2018

Third-gamer Ben Ronke stuns the football world with a seven-goal haul in Sydney's 8-point win over Hawthorn at the MCG.

"It's a bit surreal," Ronke said after the game about being mobbed by the media following his standout performance.

"I just try to answer the questions as best as I can, but it's a great feeling and to get it done with a group of blokes like that – I'm just stoked."

Saturday, 28 April 2018

Ben Ronke makes his AFL debut for Sydney at Kardinia Park with 15 disposals (9 kicks and 6 handballs), 7 tackles and 2 goals in a 17-point win over Geelong.
