Stefan Okunbor returns to Ireland after being delisted by Geelong.

"Stefan showed great desire and commitment to become a better player. He was limited by injury and the lack of games through the shutdown. He is now back in Ireland and we hope he can enjoy a successful Gaelic football career," Geelong's general manager of football Simon Lloyd said.

Darcy Fort signs a new two-year deal while fellow Cats Quinton Narkle, Zach Guthrie, Ben Jarvis and Stefan Okunbor have all signed on for another season.

"We see Quinton, Darcy, Zach, Ben and Stefan as still having improvement in front of them," Cats head of football Simon Lloyd said.

"They each had limited opportunities this year, but all five players worked hard and got better. We are looking forward to their continued improvement."

Stefan Okunbor is set for a long stint on sidelines after rupturing his Achilles at training.

The 21-year-old Irishman will be put under the knife for immediate surgery after meeting with a specialist.

Geelong is expected to sign Irishman Stefan Okunbor on a two-year rookie contract.

Gaelic football club Na Gaeil released a statement confirming Okunbor's impending agreement with Geelong.

"Stefan has been one of the stars of our senior team over the past few years, as well as an underage star for the club all the way up the various age groups," the statement read.

"He was exemplary both on and off the field and a role model for all in the club.

"While we are very sad to be losing such an outstanding talent; we wish Stefan all the best from all in the Na Gaeil club."

Ireland's latest two AFL offerings slipped into Melbourne under the cover of darkness in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Teenagers Cillian McDaid and Stefan Okunbor are in Australia for a battery of agility, fitness and skill tests under AFL recruiters' eyes, with the end goal of becoming professional footballers.

They already saw off an exclusive group of 23 countrymen to make it this far, advancing from the AFL Europe Talent Combine in November last year.

Irish hopefuls Stefan Okunbor and Cillian McDaid will travel to Australia later this year after being invited by the League to test at the NAB AFL Draft Combine.

The pair were among four prospects from Ireland to train with the NAB AFL Academy in Florida earlier this year as part of the Academy's high performance camp.

Their athleticism and developing skills with the ball impressed recruiters and AFL talent scouts enough to win a call to come to Australia in September to take part in the Academy's training camp, and then trial in front of clubs at October's national combine at Etihad Stadium.
