Lachlan Fogarty Biography

Wednesday, 11 November 2020

Geelong trade Lachie Fogarty to Carlton in exchange for picks No.30 and No.51 for pick No.38 in the upcoming 2020 AFL draft.

"He will have every opportunity to make the most of that talent at our football club and he is really excited to begin the hard work and push for his place in our best 22," Blues head of list management Nick Austin said of Fogarty.

"He is an exciting prospect who we think has the potential to be a player our members and supporters really enjoy watching in the seasons to come."

Lachie Fogarty will be sidelined from running for up to eight weeks after undergoing hip surgery.

"He had a hip arthroscope after we found he had suffered some cartilage damage," Geelong head of football Simon Lloyd said.

"It's a long-term approach with a player like Lachie, but we still expect him to play some significant football in the first half of the year."

Sunday, 25 March 2018

Lachlan Fogarty makes his AFL debut for Geelong at the MCG with 20 disposals (8 kicks and 12 handballs), 4 marks, 2 tackles and a goal in a 3-point win over Melbourne.

Tim Kelly, Lachlan Fogarty Esava Ratugolea will make their AFL debuts for the Cats in Geelong's season opener against Melbourne.

Cats coach Chris Scott says they forced their way in off strong pre-seasons and were picked on "merit" ahead of a number of more experienced teammates.

"This is not about planning for the future this is about our best team for Sunday," Scott said on Friday.

"They're in based on merit, we highly rate the opposition and we know we need to play at our absolute best."
