Isaac Quaynor Biography

Sunday, 28 January 2024

Isaac Quaynor signs a five-year extension with the Magpies, keeping him at the club until at least the end of 2029.

"I'll be forever grateful to Collingwood who gave me my first AFL opportunity back in 2018 and I'm thankful to have secured my future at this club," Quaynor said.

"The last few seasons have been so special and the environment that's been created has been amazing. Each week, I can't wait to run out with this amazing group of players and to do so in front of our incredible Magpie Army."

Collingwood pair Jack Ginnivan and Isaac Quaynor have apologised for a video they posted on social media where they took part in a trend in which they rated women's looks.

"We did a trend that we did not think about before posting and we're really sorry for making the mistake of participating in it and then posting it," Quaynor said.

"We've since realised that it's just not acceptable and it doesn't align with the values that both of us hold. We'll keep learning about what we should and shouldn't post as there's a lot to learn from."

Ginnivan added: "We're sorry to everyone at the club, across all platforms, our members, supporters for any impact we've caused. Thanks guys and we're so sorry again."

Monday, 7 February 2022

Isaac Quaynor signs a new three-year deal to remain at Collingwood until the end of 2025.

"It's pleasing to know I have Collingwood's long term faith and, equally, I was keen to make a commitment," Quaynor said.

"I feel that I can be my best at Collingwood. It's the right place for me and I was keen to acknowledge that. The fans and the crowds, the general environment, are superb and I'm bullish about what is to come on the field."

Tuesday, 15 September 2020

Isaac Quaynor is the 20 round 17 AFL Rising Star nominee after notching 17 disposals and 7 marks against Gold Coast.

"It’s always a nice little box to tick off. I guess you see your peers winning them and you want to see your name p there as well, so it was good to get a bit of recognition," Quaynor told Fox Footy’s AFL 360.

The AFL rules that the boots Sam Wicks wore against Collingwood were not compliant with League regulations.

The issue came to light after Magpie Isaac Quaynor sustained a severe 16-21cm gash on his right leg, following an attempted tackle on Wicks in the final term. The Swans stated post-match that Wicks' boots were standard-issue screw-ins, with a hybrid soleplate that includes plastic and aluminium stops.

"Following discussions with the AFL, it has become clear that these boots are not compliant with AFL regulations," the Swans said in a statement.

"The Sydney Swans will take steps to rectify this immediately to ensure that all boots are compliant going forward. The club has been in contact with Collingwood to express its regret for the incident and concern for Isaac, whom we wish a speedy recovery."

Sunday, 24 November 2019

Isaac Quaynor has vowed to be more honest with the club after injury cut short a promising rookie year in 2019.

Leading into Collingwood's clash with eventual premier Richmond at the MCG in round 19, Quaynor felt increasing discomfort in his left foot. He knew the right thing to do would be to raise it with the Pies' medical team, but he stayed silent.

Quaynor took the field against the Tigers and paid the price. After the 32-point loss, he had a foot issue he could no longer hide. Scans revealed a "hot spot", or stress reaction, that required time on the sidelines.

"I wasn't honest enough with the physios. That's because I really wanted to play every week. It's a typical young player thing to do, but I'll learn from that," Quaynor said.

"I also didn't know my body well enough, and didn't pay enough attention to the signals it was giving me.

"In future, if it means missing a week and trying to fight my way back in the VFL for a couple of weeks, so be it. I'd rather do that than miss the rest of the season like I did this year when, if things had been different, maybe I could have played finals."

Sunday, 17 November 2019

John Noble signs a new two-year extension to remain at the Magpies until the end of 2022.

"Since arriving at the club, Isaac's professionalism in his approach to training, preparing and playing has been beyond his years," Collingwood list manager Ned Guy said.

"Isaac has impressed us with his physicality as well as his run and carry at AFL level, and we know he'll only continue to grow and develop over his next few years at the club."

Friday, 26 July 2019

Isaac Quaynor signs a two-year extension on top of his initial two-year draftee deal and will remain with Collingwood until the end of 2022.

Friday, 5 July 2019

Isaac Quaynor makes his AFL debut for Collingwood at the MCG with 18 disposals (11 kicks and 7 handballs), 7 marks and 4 tackles in a 4-point loss to Hawthorn.

Wednesday, 3 July 2019

Isaac Quaynor will make his much-anticipated debut against Hawthorn at the MCG this Friday night.

"I'm excited to get an opportunity and play my first game for Collingwood. It came as a bit of a surprise but I'm looking forward to getting out onto the MCG and playing my role for the team," Quaynor told the Magpies' website.

Saturday, 22 December 2018

Tom Phillips says Magpies draftee and teammate Isaac Quaynor is ready-made for AFL football.

Both Phillips and Quaynor represented Beverley Hills in Doncaster East before progressing to the Oakleigh Chargers' program, where Quaynor received guidance from Phillips' father Anthony.

"He's got a lot of traits to make him a really, really good footballer. He's strong, he's quick, he's got great endurance and he's very smart," Phillips said.

"He played at my junior footy club and Dad did a bit of work with him and has been a bit of a mentor for him over the past year or two, so I've known him a little bit over the years.

"He did a great amount of work to get drafted and he's continuing to work really hard."

Friday, 23 November 2018

Collingwood select Isaac Quaynor with pick No.13 in the 2018 National Draft.

"Firstly, it’s to get into the club and earn the respect of my teammates and obviously get to know the coaching staff and all the people around the club," Quaynor said of his initial goals.

"And then obviously to get on the track and start making some gains and getting myself better and developing myself and hopefully make a senior debut at some point.

"I guess that comes with all the hard work you’ve got to do before it, so it’s a long road and I’m excited to get into it."

Thursday, 4 October 2018

Collingwood's Next Generation Academy prospect Isaac Quaynor wins the goalkicking test at the NAB AFL Draft Combine with a perfect score.

"That was an absolute fluke. I'll take it any day of the week but I won't do it again anytime soon," Quaynor said.

Quaynor spent some time with the Magpies in December of 2017 as part of his involvement with the NAB AFL Academy.

"I've been barracking for them (the Magpies) a long time now and they've been a big part of my life the last couple of years, so I'm pretty passionate about it but obviously there's other clubs out there that I'm just as interested in going to," Quaynor said.

"It's all part of my development and I'm really happy to be there."
