Callum Brown makes his AFL debut for GWS at Kardinia Park with 6 disposals (4 kicks and 2 handballs), 2 marks, a tackle and 2 goals in a 19-point win over Geelong.

Conor McKenna and his Bombers teammates Ross McQuillan and Cian McBride, as well as Magpies duo Anton Tohill and Mark Keane, and Giants youngster Callum Brown, are among a handful of players who have either returned to Ireland or are expected to imminently as the COVID-19 crisis continues to accelerate worldwide.

Callum Brown from County Derry in Ireland joins GWS as a Category B rookie.

While he often played in the Gaelic Football equivalent of a midfield role for Derry in the GAA, the 18-year-old will take up a forward role in 2019.

"This year at county level I played at full forward, but last year I played glimpses (in the midfield), and it just depends on how the game's going," Brown said.

"If we were maybe down a few points I'd go in. I think I'll play in more of a forward role hopefully they'll put me in."
