Sam Flanders informs the Suns that he wants to explore opportunities elsewhere.

Flanders is contracted until the end of 2027, but has attracted attention from a host of Victorian clubs.

"Sam expressed an interest in exploring other opportunities for next year at today's exit meeting," Suns list manager Craig Cameron said in a statement.

"However, we have reiterated to Sam that he is a contracted player with our football club and part of our best 23 players".

Gold Coast coach Hardwick says Sam Flanders won't be going anywhere this off-season, with the Gold Coast coach expecting his young midfielder to be Suns' "solution" as they push towards a maiden finals appearance.

"We're not in the business of trading our very best players, so Sam Flanders won't be going anywhere," Hardwick said.

"I've got a real soft spot for Sam, he's one of my favourites."

Sam Flanders signs a four-year contract extension with Gold Coast to remain at the Suns until at least the end of 2027 and says a chat with new Suns coach Damien Hardwick convinced him to stay.

"The first meeting with him was pretty good for me, just to hear how he sees me, how I’m going to fit in the mix in the team," Flanders said of Hardwick.

"He just voiced his vision and that was enough for me to want to be a part of. It was a massive part in the re-signing."

Sam Flanders signs a two-year contract extension with Gold Coast to remain at the club until the end of 2023.

"The club has believed in me since day one and has given me the opportunity to learn and play senior football," Flanders said.

"It's exciting what the upcoming years hold for the club. We all see the potential to have success with such a talented, committed group."
