Nic Reid makes his AFL debut for West Coast at Perth Stadium with 9 disposals (4 kicks and 5 handballs), 2 tackles and a goal in a 32-point win over Hawthorn.

Nic Reid, recruited by West Coast as a rookie during the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period (SSP), is set to make his AFL debut against Hawthorn.

"He's come from so far back. He's a local boy from North Beach. He was a 24-year-old school teacher who was about to play his 100th game in the amateurs, then he gets a go at WAFL level and gets put on our list," West Coast coach Adam Simpson said.

"Now he's playing against Hawthorn at Optus Stadium, so it's a great story for him."

West Coast sign WAFL product Nic Reid as a rookie under the Pre-season Supplemental Selection rules.

"He's a great story. He was playing amateur football only two years ago and then made a commitment to try and make it to AFL, and he's realised that dream. We're really glad to give him that opportunity," Eagles list manager Darren Glass said of Reid.
